The UNMISS Civil Affairs Annual Workshop in Juba, South Sudan, 19-21 November 2024, assembled the UN Civil Affairs team leaders at all UNMISS field locations across South Sudan. The aim of the workshop was to exchange experiences and coordinate activities. Prof. Allard Duursma, who holds in chair in Conflict Management and International Relations at ETH Zurich, shared insights from his field research and data analysis on UN Civil Affairs’ role in local conflict resolution. Highlighted evidence-based strategies to strengthen community engagement. The workshop concluded with devising a common strategy for the work of UN Civil Affairs in South Sudan.
